CIMA’s Incoming French Mission Takes Place this Week in Toronto!

This week, CIMA will be conducting our first ever incoming mission targeting France and the French market. Nine delegates from France have been invited to Toronto to meet with Canadian industry participants through one on one meetings, networking receptions, networking dinners, panels, information sessions and more.

The invited French delegation includes:

  •  Xavier Collin – Publisher/General Manager at WPTL Music and E47 Agency
  • Ferielle Laieb – Marketing & Communication/Artistic Director at Filature Unity
  • Etienne Coignec – Project Manager at Nowadays Records
  • Fabrice Absil – Publisher at Absilone
  • Remi Agostini – Sync/Brands/Publishing at Even More
  • Simon Beaudoux – A&R Director at Finalisters
  • Martin Chourrout – Managing Director/Sync at Finalistes
  • Emmanuel Legrand – Music Week Editor
  • Rodrigue Mercier-Lourthioux – Manager at Red Castle Management

The mission will run from November 6-11 and will be in partnership with Indie Week’s international delegate programming.

Apply Now: Lets Hear It Live Concert Series

Music BC Industry Association is pleased to announce the Let’s Heart It! Concert Series at the Fox Cabaret which will take place over 6 dates in 2018 and 2019.
 
Artists from all genres and all regions across BC are encouraged to apply and submissions intake will be ongoing until May 10, 2019 with three different artists being selected by a jury of local industry tastemakers for each showcase night.

Call for Submissions: Indigenous Artist Development Program

The Manitoba Arts Network has partnered with Manitoba Music’s Indigenous Music Development Program to provide up to five Manitoba based First Nation, Metis and Inuit solo artists, musicians or bands with four days of mentorship with music professionals.

The program will take place during the Manitoba Showcase 2018 (October 25-28, 2018) in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba.

2019 NOMFA Submissions Now Open

Music and Film in Motion have announced the official opening of the submission period for the 2019 Northern Ontario Music and Film Awards (NOMFA). From now until January 11, 2019,MFM invites eligible applicants to submit film, TV and music projects that have been released commercially between January 1 2017 and December 31 2018.

Phoenix Program Now Accepting Submissions

After a very successful launch in British Columbia in 2017, the renowned Phoenix program is now open to applicants from across Canada. Mid-career music managers, label owners, and senior music business executives are encouraged to apply.

The Phoenix program is an intensive professional development course for owners or senior management working in the Canadian music business, who want to grow their operations locally and internationally. Participants will focus on developing tools to analyze the viability and growth of their business, skills to create a detailed business plan, and business and financial modelling. The program will be presented by Music Nova Scotia, and is funded by MusicactionFACTOR and the Government of Canada

Showcase Submissions Open: Canadian Music Week 2019

Applications are now open for Canadian Music Week 2019! This gives artists the chance to perform in front of top industry insiders from Canada and around the world.

Talent buyers, booking agents, festival programmers, music publishers, managers and more will be in attendance.

Submissions Now Open: SOCAN Song House

Twelve songwriters will be selected to participate in this 2-day interactive songwriting workshop led by an established Canadian songwriter. Participants from Western Canada will be selected to participate based on their songwriting skill and will gain valuable insight into the craft of writing a hit song.

This initiative aligns with SOCAN’s A&R strategy to help members with craft development reach new heights in their careers.

Apply to Play: The Great Escape 2019

Applications are now open for the 2019 edition of The Great Escape festival in Brighton, UK. The call out is open to all artists including bands, singer-songwriters, DJs, collectives, duos at more.
 
All submissions will be reviewed by TGE’s booking team and those artists chosen to perform will be contacted directly over the coming months.
